The NIH Office of Management in partnership with the Office of Research Services, Division of Amenities and Transportation Services, and the NIH Clinical Center invites all NIH employees and contractors to participate in a non-competitive Walk or Fun Run on:
Tuesday, May 6, 2008 from 11:00 am – 2:30 pm
Grab a co-worker or two and lace up your walking shoes. What better way to take a break from all of the hustle and bustle than to go for a leisurely stroll or jog around the perimeter of the NIH campus.
On-Line Registration Ends Friday, May 2, 2008
Don’t delay - the first 1,000 employees to register on-line will receive a
commemorative “Take a Hike Day” T-shirt.
Confucius says "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. How far can you walk - ¼ mile, 1 mile, and what about 2.8 miles? No matter how far, the ultimate goal is to begin or continue a regular habit of physical activity and create a foundation for long-term behavior changes for a healthier life style.
Please Note: This is not a timed event or competition. Everyone who participates in the event is a winner.
We have a Fun and Exciting Event Planned for You! Just take a look at the Schedule of Events: http://does.ors.od.nih.gov/fitness/hike_schedule.htm
Sign Language Interpreters will be provided. Individuals with disabilities who need reasonable accommodations to participate in this event should contact Carole Harman at 301-402-8180.
If you have any questions about the NIH Take a Hike Day event, contact the ORS Division of Amenities and Transportation Services at 301-402-8180.
